The History Students Association (HSA) gives students a place to come together, find help with classes, put together events, and form lifelong bonds with fellow students. The HSA is a great way for the far-flung body of Cal State East Bay students to unite over their passion for history.
The HSA is built around events. We host our own functions and work with the History Department to stage larger affairs. Recent events include field trips to the new S.F. Asian Art Museum, the USS Hornet, the Sacramento Train Museum, and organization of our own student history conference. We host coffee and donuts throughout the year.
The History Student Lounge, on the fourth floor of Meiklejohn Hall (4032), is ground zero for the HSA. The lounge is a great place to get feedback on a paper or project idea as well as to catch up on the announcement bulletin board. Drop by any time and experience the camaraderie of the lounge and browse the books on sale from the HSA library.
Network with other students about their experiences with the department and learn strategies for getting through the program smoothly. The HSA gives you an opportunity to discuss favorite classes and professors so you can be better prepared for your Cal State journey.
The HSA is an official CSUEB club. Election to HSA officer positions is open to all CSUEB students and looks great on your resume!
