National Examination Scores and Program Completion Rates of CSUEB Graduates


The National Examination in Speech-Language Pathology (PRAXIS) is required for clinical certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), as well as for the State of California license.

Score reports of 242 of the 285 graduates who took the examination through 2001. A minimum score of 600 is required for certification and the State license. The median score of candidates is 670 nationwide (ETS data). The median score for this group of CSUEB students was 720. This includes the retake scores of five students who did not obtain a passing score the first time.
