Undergraduate Degree Requirements
Degree Requirements for the B. S. Degree
Official information concerning major and minor requirements in Speech Pathology and Audiology, as well as detailed course descriptions, may be found in the current General Catalog. The following information is intended to assist students and their advisors in planning a program which meets both major requirements and provides the strongest pre-professional training for prospective graduate students.
Lower Division (First and Second Years): Students enrolled at CSUEB as Freshmen and Sophomores, as well as students at community colleges who anticipate transferring to this program, should focus their first two years on establishing a firm base of fundamental course work upon which specialized work will be built.
Courses listed below are required and have been selected by the faculty for several reasons. First, it is the faculty's experience that these courses are necessary prerequisites to later specialized course work in the major. Second, students who do not have this background often do poorly in later course work. Finally, admission standards of most graduate programs in Speech Pathology and Audiology expect the students to have had preparation in the areas indicated.
